Bruce Castor's testimony during Trump's impeachment contradicted the very reason he was hired
Interesting things in politics tend to happen on a Tuesday, hence the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
As we heard gut-wrenching testimony from Rep. Jamie Raskin's (D-MD) heartbreaking account of his son's death, we were also met with testimony from members of Trump's Defense team ( Bruce Castor, David Schoen, Michael van der Veen), which was literally put together a little over a week ago.
Unfortunately, I could tell the defense team was put together in a small-time frame because of some of the things that were being said, particularly by Bruce Castor.
In a Twitter video clip from NBC, Castor said this about American's and the choices they made about the administration: "The American people just spoke…They're smart enough to pick a new administration if they don't like the old one-and they just did."
Although American citizens "just spoke" out about wanting a change from the horrendous actions that occurred throughout the Trump administration and "just changed" administrations ( thank goodness for President Joe Biden), it seems as if Castor is completely missing the point as to why the impeachment trial is happening.
Citizens vouched for the change they wanted to see and triumphed, but it came at the opposition of staunch Trump supporters who believed in one of the biggest, baseless claims from Trump regarding the 2020 election—voter fraud.
Through some people believing that there were discrepancies with votes, and listening to and agreeing with Trump's rhetoric as he said things such as "fight like hell", he inadvertently incited the atrocities at Capitol Hill, even if he doesn't believe that he did.
Twitter also wasn't impressed Castor had to say either. Here's what was said:
All in all, Castor, along with the other members of Trump's legal team, represents and supports him. However, it would be in their best interest to ask their client if he changed his tune or not. Better yet, if they haven't already, they should watch or read the news so that they are always aware of what's happening. It would make the situation less of a hot mess.
