I'm absolutely not a photographer.
I have a million beautiful memories I can only capture in film because the grainy quality comforts me with the warmth of moments and images from my beautiful childhood.
My berets made me magical in the '90s.
I housed fantasy, Spice Girl wishes, and enough PVC accessories to envelope the beauty of my innocence in a plastic bubble.
The year 2020 was about getting through things. It was about transcending the past and future to get to the point that devolves time and creates a space of comfort.
As Black people, we are often so patient regarding the future and past. Our ancestors waited and survived in light of the future with the past in mind. In present times, we look back at the wonder about the past with our futures in mind.
So often, the comfort and brilliance of where we are in real-time get lost.
Through photos used as glimpses of my mind, I wish to be here. Whatever here is.
Comforted with the love and beauty of the people in my life. Forever.
