Trump resigned from SAG-AFTRA— 'who cares!'
Instead of the classic "you're fired" declaration, Former President Donald Trump decided to send in a somewhat formal resignation letter to one of the entertainment industry's largest unions (SAG-AFTRA) on Thursday. This resignation came before the "so-called" disciplinary team could revoke his union membership.
According to Deadline, Trump, a member of SAG-AFTRA for over 30 years, was facing membership termination from its national board last month due to violating the union's terms for allegedly inciting the atrocities that happened with the insurrection of Capitol Hill on January 6.
"I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!" said Trump in a signed letter to union president and former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Gabrielle Carteris.
Then Trump does what he always seems to do— talking about all of his accomplishments while putting someone down.
"While I'm not familiar with your work, I'm very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice – to name just a few!"
Trump then discusses what the union hasn't done for him, saying, "Why isn't the union fighting for me." Instead, he feels that they collected dues while "promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas."

He then concluded in his immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA with, "You have done nothing for me."
Many people enjoyed the shows and films Trump mentioned, so it seems odd to me when he says that the union didn't help him in any way. He had the opportunity to be a part of some of Hollywood's classics, which gained him recognition for that and his business endeavors.
Moreover, after the board made the decision that Trump made a violation, Carteris said, "Donald Trump attacked the values that this union holds most sacred – democracy, truth, respect for our fellow Americans of all races and faiths, and the sanctity of the free press."
Now the real entertaining ( and quite telling) part about this whole situation was the national executive director, David White and Carteris, responding to Trump's letter with two outstanding words: "Thank you."
What a classy and refined response!
